Dixon, John Frederick

John Dixon was born in Melbourne in 1947. Raised in Beechworth Victoria where he attended primary and high school, graduating Dux. John was a proficient sportsman excelling in Australian Rules Football, tennis and horse riding as well as an avid bushman. After leaving school he went into a career with the Commonwealth Public Service and later joined the RAAF as an officer. After leaving the air force he moved to the Pacific Islands where he was invited to join the United Nations in Cambodia.
