Digel, Helmut

After his career as a professional handbook player, Digel became president of the German Athletics Federation in 1993. From 1993 to 2002 he was vice president of the National Olympic Committee for Germany. He was elected Sports Official of the Year twice. He was the vice president of the International Association of Athletics Federations until 2007. In 2007 he joined the IAAF Council.
