Warren Dent was born in Sydney, Australia. After gaining degrees in Canberra and Adelaide and a Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota, he taught Econometrics and Business Statistics for many years, before entering the private sector, where he worked for three number one companies - Eli Lilly, American Airlines, and Microsoft - creating new businesses and applying information systems to strategic market applications.
