Ali Demirci is Professor of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at ThePennsylvania State University, USA. He is on the editorial board of the "Journal of Food Protection"and "Food Biotechnology." His current researchinterests involve the inactivation of pathogenic and spoilage microorganisms through the use of irradiation, pulsed UV light and electrolyzed oxidizing water.
