David E. DeMatthews is an assistant professor in the Educational Leadership and Foundations Department at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He received his PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park in the area of educational policy and leadership. Dr. DeMatthews has also served as a high school social studies teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools and assistant principal and special education policy analyst for the District of Columbia Public Schools.
