Pamela Deane Leonard Stanek was a classic late bloomer. She grew up in Portland, ho-hummed her way through high school, partied her way through three years at the University of Oregon, and married and raised two spectacular boys before she finally decided maybe this education thing could actually be fun and rewarding at the same time.
