Dolores de Leon performed as a ballet dancer, modern dancer, and flamenco dancer in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Spain. She has led and choreographed her own modern dance and flamenco companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a writer, her short stories and poetry reflecting the lifestyle, belief systems, and traditions of the Gypsies of southern Spain have been published in numerous literary journals including Amoskeag, Arnazella, Convululus, Left Curve, The Madison Review, RiversEdge, Thereby Hangs a Tale, and Zahir. She resides in southern Oregon.
