Jerry Davis has written scholarly articles and reviews for Alabama Heritage, Alabama Review, American Presbyterians, Journal of the West, New Mexico Historical Review, and the Western Historical Quarterly. After growing up on the banks of the Black Warrior River in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Davis began sailing on Lake Pontchartrain while earning an undergraduate degree at Tulane University.
