I grew up in typical middle class suburbia to Catholic parents who voted for Democrats. Like most Dems, they were not sure why they were Democrats only that their parents were. However, they were far from liberals. My father (God rest his soul) had a side business. As an electrical engineer, he picked up projects usually with small businesses in the community. He paid lots in taxes but that never deterred him. He taught me to work hard, take care of family and give back to the community.
