Dorinda G. Dallmeyer, a native of Macon, Georgia, has worked in the fields of environmental science, international law, and environmental ethics. With other regional nature writers, she created the Southern Nature Project to encourage writing aimed at conserving the Southern environment for generations yet to come. She has twice received the Phillip Reed Memorial Award for Outstanding Writing about the Southern Environment. A devoted naturalist, Dorinda and her husband David live on 50 acres in rural Madison County, Georgia.
