Bruce Daley, who goes by the pen name Black Dove, is an eclectic poet born and raised in Maryland. The son of a Haitian mother and Jamaican father, Bruce is the first generation American in his family. Poetry first entered his life 13 years ago. The art of poetry was used as a refuge to escape anger and apply his thoughts, feelings, and emotions constructively to a positive outlet. When he could not express himself to his family and friends he found solace in the paper and pen.
