C.E. (Bert) Cushing is a retired stream ecologist who has studied rivers and streams for over 45 years and fished them for 70 years. He obtained a B.Sc. in Fisheries Management and a M.Sc. in Limnology from Colorado State University in 1952 and 1956, respectively, and a Ph.D. in Limnology from the University of Saskatchewan in 1961. He spent his professional career as a Senior Research Scientist at the Battelle-Pacific Northwest Laboratories in Richland, WA. Bert has published widely in scientific journals and books.
