A graduate of the University of Missouri and George Washington University Law School, Mary Crane worked as a lawyer and a lobbyist before heading to the Culinary Institute of America ("the other CIA"), from which she graduated with honors. A CIA externship led her to the White House (yes, the one at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue), where she served as an assistant chef.
