Sandy Cowell grew up in New Zealand. She worked as a journalist for twenty years in broadcasting and print media, before embarking on a new career in nutrition and health in the USA. She currently works as a nutritionist and counselor in a pre-emptive medical practice near San Francisco, 'Saving patients from diabetes, one forkful at a time'. In her free time she regularly hikes the Stanford Dish, and enjoys travel, music, films, and writing bad haiku.
