Grant Corson moved to Vermont at seventeen to attend the University of Vermont in the early 1950s. Falling in love with the State and its people, he stayed. Despite the lack of economic opportunity, he carved out a career in real estate and home building. He married, had one homemade child, and adopted six more, now mostly grown and flown. He still lives in Essex, Vermont, where they raised their kids, cats, and dogs, and grew their own food.
