Peter Coghlan was brought up in Stockport and the High Peak before joining the army and serving in Northern Ireland in the late 1990s. After diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, he left the army and emigrated to Perth, Australia to make a new life for himself and his fiancee Jade. But their plans for the future disintegrated when Pete was struck down by a massive brain stem stroke which left him 'locked-in', totally paralysed except for his eyes!
