Edward Cline's debut Chess Hanrahan mystery, First Prize, won praise from The Armchair Detective as "exceptionally strong." The two subsequent adventures of the "thinking man's Mike Hammer" have done nothing to diminish that judgment. Besides his detective novels, Edward Cline has written six novels in the Sparrowhawk historical series and contributed to many newspapers and magazines. He lives in Williamsburg, Virginia.
