A native of Chicago, author Clarke Church moved with his family to suburban Philadelphia at age fourteen. Following high school, he matriculated at Dartmouth College, where he graduated in 1950 after serving with the U.S. Army in the Aleutian Islands during 1946-47. After graduation Clarke joined P&G where he spent the balance of his working career, retiring in 1992. The author is pictured here with Jane, his devoted wife of 62 years.
