Paul Chrystal was educated at the Universities of Hull and Southampton where he took degrees in Classics. He has worked in medical publishing for thirty-five years: now he combines this with writing features for national newspapers and history magazines, as well as advising visitor attractions such as the National Trust's 'Goddards', the home of Noel Terry, and 'York's Sweet Success'.
