Lyle Christie was born in San Francisco, raised in Marin County, and attended San Francisco State University, the Academy of Art College, and Dominican University. He majored in film and social psychology, minoring in Philosophy, Anthropology, and Human Sexuality, which gave him the diverse educational background to help him become a writer and director. He holds a fifth degree black belt in Kenpo Karate, and is a certified expert in all manner of weapons, including the pistol, rifle, sword, stick, knife, goat, staff, tetherball, nunchaku, machete, and skin flute.
