Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Mary Jean Kistner began singing in the County Fair circuit when she was only four-years-old and progressed to a Christian choir group where she sang until age eleven. From that point forward, she traveled widely and moved often, which threw her into many diverse cultures. With her ease in making new friends, Mary Jean thrived rather than wilted, and she acquired adaptation skills and flexibility that allowed her to handle all kinds of different situations.
