Encouraged by friends and acquaintances who knew bits of my story, I eventually decided to dive in. I would finally tell the story locked away for much of my life; even the parts no one knew of or might not want to hear. During this time, health problems pressed to the forefront, making it more difficult to focus or continue for long stretches. However, my condition sometimes made it easier to recall the hidden, painful memories.
