Lorne Tepperman, one of Canada's pre-eminent sociologists, has taught at the University of Toronto for more than 40 years. He received his Ph.D. at Harvard, where he worked with such foundational figures in the history of social thought as Talcott Parsons and George Homans. He is the author of a wide range of books both for students and general readers. Sally Chiang is a freelance researcher, author and editor whose research interests include social inequality, homelessness, healthcare policy and mental health.
