The "Route 66 Storyteller" has risen from the ashes. Ronald P. Chavez was born in the farming village of Puerto de Luna in New Mexico on the banks of the Pecos River. He spent years as owner of the Club Cafe on historic Old Route 66. He writes poems and stories about the people and places of those times. "The gente," he says of them, "are the salt of the earth." Chavez currently lives and writes in Taos, NM.
