Srilata Chatterjee gained her PhD from the University of Calcutta in 2001 and has been a Lecturer of History at Behala College, Calcutta since 1996 and a Guest Lecturer at Rabindra Bharati University, Calcutta since 1993. She is the author of a number of research papers and is currently conducting research into the political and socio-economic history of colonial India, and the history of medicine and popular response to Western medical sciences in colonial India.
