Cousins Cristine Caton and Judy Ryan grew up in St. Louis, Missouri Cristine Caton started her career as an elementary school teacher. She taught for 7 years before going on to other ventures. She ended her career as the owner of a print and copy shop where she did the layout and design for her customers using various computer graphics programs. After retiring she decided to put both of these careers together to create the series of children's pictures called The Adventures of Cefa the Cat.
