Theresa Carrington was inspired to create When Cows Eat Flowers to help teach her children responsibility for their actions. Jennifer loved the chicka-pooka, chicka-pooka sound of Farmer Brown's tractor and Joshua always laughed at the word Petunia. The characters came to life years later when Theresa's mother Beth, an accomplished sculptor, illustrated the story.
