Cynthia Carbone Ward is a former teacher, a fellow of the South Coast Writing Project, co-founder of the Gaviota Writers' Group, and a regular contributor to The Santa Barbara Independent. Her essays have appeared in various journals and magazines, including Voices in Italian Americana, The Brown Literary Review, and Ranch and Reata, and she is the author of three books.
