Gerald Caiden was born in London in 1936 and studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he obtained his doctorate in comparative government. He has taught at The Australian National University, Canberra, and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and is currently professor at the School of Policy, Planning, and Development at the University of Southern California.
