Roselyn Byrne (a.k.a Nana Ama Serwaa Nyarko) I was born into the Ashanti Royal family in Ghana and spent my childhood days between my father's Hia-stool house in Kumasi and my grandmother's house nearby. I always enjoyed accompanying my father each time that he took me to the palace of the King of Ashanti to perform his duties as Hiahene and especially to visit the late Queen-mother, Nana Ama Serwaa Nyarko I, whom I was named after. (At my christening I was given the name Roselyn which was the norm during the colonial days). I cherished the 'sixpence old coin' which the late Queen always gave
