Dr. Lawrence G. Burch earned a PhD in physical chemistry at St. Louis University and began his career as a thermal engineer on both the NASA Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. With the ending of the space program, he went to medical school. After internship and residency, he returned to his hometown of Alton, Illinois, where he practiced internal medicine for thirty years. Now retired, he is engaged in part-time hospital administration consulting and is a guest lecturer on engineering at his high school alma mater.
