MARTIN J. BULL is Senior Lecturer in Politics and Contemporary History and Associate Director of the European Studies Research Institute at the University of Salford./e He is coeditor of the book "West European Communist Parties after the Revolution of 1989" (1994) and is currently working on a book on Italian politics.
