Georges Bugnet was born in France at Charlon-sur-SaAne, in 1879. He was educated at the Sorbonne and the University of Dijon. At the age of twenty-five, he came to Canada and settled for a short time in Saint-Boniface. In 1905, he and his wife moved to the Lac Majeau area in North-Central Alberta, where they pioneered. He spent the remainder of his years in Legal, Alberta.
