Growing up in rural Petersburg, W.Va., Robert Fouch spent his childhood exploring the woods behind his house, hoping (and fearing) he would one day find the mythical Bigfoot. Alas, he never did, but he harbored a love for the massive creature through a four-year stint at Marshall University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in editorial journalism, and then through a newspaper career that eventually landed him at Newsday on Long Island.
