RUSSEL BROWNLEE lives in Cape Town where he works as a technical editor in the IT field. He has worked in magazines, was a newswriter at the SABC for several years, and spent two years pretending to be an owner of a general dealer in the Karoo. He has written two unpublished novels. His third novel - Garden of the Plagues - was written as part of a Creative Writing Masters degree at UCT under the mentorship of Andre Brink. Russel's inspiration for writing comes from history, philosophy, and landscapes.
