Dr. Jean Lisette Brodey was a professor of communications at Temple University in Philadelphia, where she taught public relations. During her tenure, the Dr. Jean Brodey Student Achievement Award was created to honor the year's outstanding graduating communications senior in the city of Philadelphia.
