I was born and raised in the north-east of England in the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. I attended Durham University, where I gained a Ba (hons) in Education. I moved to Cambridge after University to begin my teaching career, and taught mathematics and science for eight years. I truly loved it, but I also knew my passion lay elsewhere. Since my memories first began to form, all I can remember is me with my nose stuck in a book; when I was young and my friends were buying sweets I was starting to build my Agatha Christie collection.
