Alan Roy Johnston is a retired administrator and business owner. Stories of Welsh-Irish and Norse ancestry told by his mother and grandmother inspired an interest in Celtic spirituality. Now a practicing Druid, he can trace his genealogy and DNA ancestry back hundreds of years in Wales, Ireland, Sweden, and Norway, and is a direct descendant of Gwenllian verch Gruffydd of Cymru, the Welsh Celtic leader often compared to Boadicea; Irish king Brian Boru; and King Ragnar Lodbrok, whose father Sigurd Hring was King of Sweden. The author lives in Eastern Oregon with his wife.
