Tarabud was born in Chicago, Illinois to Colombian immigrants. As a child, she lived with her maternal family in Colombia, and grew up enfolded in the richness of Latin American culture. Returning to Southern California with her single mother, she developed a bi-cultural identity that still inspires her creative work. She completed a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature, from California State University of Long Beach, where she developed her love of story.
