Bowers, June E.

Bowers is the eldest of nine children, she rose from a childhood of poverty, dominated by an abusive alcoholic father, a terrified mother, and a judgmental grandmother. Her career as a writer, editor, and photographer for a number of U.S. Government publications for more than 30 years. She has been a member of the National Press Club, the American News Women's Club and the Federal Editor's Association. She has won three Golden Poet awards and two Silver Poet awards.
