Author Howard Lee Sprague Howard Lee Sprague was born in the village of Suffern, New York. Memories of growing up in the small town until age seven with his eight cousins prompted him to write a book, for family, titled Growing up In Suffern. Howard spent one year living in Brooklyn, New York, near Ebbeits Field. His first experiences watching the Dodgers on a black and white television made him a Dodger fan for life.
