Eileen Boris, professor of history at University of California, Santa Barbara, received her Ph.D. from Brown University in 1981. Her areas of expertise are American social and cultural history, with an emphasis on women's history. She is widely recognized as a labor historian and has published a book on art and labor, co-edited a volume on paid labor at home, and written articles for numerous journals. She also serves on the Board of the Coordinating Committee on Women in the Historical Profession/Conference on Women's History.
