HAGIT BORER is a professor of linguistics at Queen Mary University, London, and also at the University of Southern California. She studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she was a student of Noam Chomsky. She is now a world expert in the study of syntax, and her three-volume "Structuring Sense" is a standard work in the field.
