In over 25 years of work as a counselor Kathryn has heard a lot of stories of hurt, trauma, anxiety, depression, and anger. She observed that at the heart of all of the stories was a foundational wound that she did not see being healed by communication techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, medication, or understanding the family they came from. While Kathryn recognized that all of these approaches were of value when used appropriately there seemed to her to be something incomplete in using them alone. It was by pursuing the way to heal her own wound as well as learning ways to help others
