Marc Bonenberger is a public health expert and doctoral student at the Swiss Centre for International Health, Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, Basel, Switzerland. His current work focuses on research in the area of human resource development, specifically on attrition and retention of health workers in resource-poor settings. He is experienced in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Academically he is equipped with a Master in African Studies and with a Bachelor in Social Anthropology and History, both from the University of Basel.
