Dorothy Blake (nEe Metcalf) - was Born on September 3rd 1910 and died on May 5th 1981.Dorothy married in September 1930 to Charles Blake. She lost two children early in her marriage, but had her only daughter Mavis in November 1935.Dorothy became ill in 1936 and was told that she had rheumatoid arthritis and would end up in a wheelchair; she told doctors no, she wouldn't and she kept quite cheerful and determined all her life, although in constant pain.She never gave in to her disease and once able she worked to help Charles provide a home for them all.She loved reading and writing, often writ...
