Bishop, Brigid

Brigid Bishop (1962- ) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the fourth child of five, to a blue collar family. She grew up in Freeland, Pennsylvania, a coal mining region where her Irish immigrant ancestors settled in the 1850's. Brigid worked as a buyer in the electronics industry as a young adult, until her first marriage, when she became a full-time stay at home mom until 1992, when she divorced her first husband and went on to raise her two young sons alone.
