Birzer, Michael L.

Michael L. Birzer is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Wichita State University. He received his doctorate from Oklahoma State University. Prior to his entrance into academia, he served 18 years with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office in Wichita, Kansas. His research interests are organizational change dynamics relating to community policing, police-minority relations, and criminal justice education and training. He has an interest in both quantitative and qualitative designs in the study of criminal justice.
