Kay L. Stumpp-Shurtliff was born in Southwest Wyoming in the high mountains of Star Valley. Other than the brief two years she spent at NAS Alameda, Oakland, CA, her life has centered in Wyoming and Utah. Stumpp-Shurtliff is the seventh daughter of the Bill and Jeanette Stumpp family. She raised her family of three girls and two boys in South Ogden, Utah. After a career in banking and outside sales, she was stricken by Multiple Sclerosis in 1993.
