Bernd, Zila

Zila Bernd is professor of francophone and comparative literatures in the graduate program at the Universidade Federale de Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) and researcher associated with the National Research Council (Brazil). She was director of the Canadian Studies centre at the UFRGS, and Vice-President and President of ABECAN (Association for Canadian Studies in Brazil). She is the author of many books, was named Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Quebec, and was President of the International Council for Canadian Studies in 2003-2005.
